Photography Exhibition

Curate my photography exhibition and help choose between the next two photos…

What would you like to see in a photography exhibition?

Hsipaw, Myanmar, Burma, Don Khong Island, Laos, SE Asia

Trying something new as taking a rest from publishing articles on my Indonesian travel– need to start organising another photography exhibition.

My last photography exhibition – Image Earth Faces, hosted by the beautiful Erika from Piano B – Event Project Management – was pre-COVID in 2018. The stunning medieval Palazzo Sersale in the village of Cerisano, Calabria in Southern Italy, is a superb venue for any function but especially for an exhibition.

I need your help to decide on a new portfolio for my future exhibition. Not sure when this will be, but there is so much to organise and loads of decisions to make…

Choose a theme

  • Street?
  • Portrait?
  • Landscape?
  • Candid?
  • Urban exploration?
  • Abstract and Conceptual
  • Street art?
  • Travel?
  • Castles?
  • Country or continent?
  • Social issues?

Choose a Medium

  • Black & White?
  • Colour?
  • Frames? Frameless glass?
  • Canvas?
  • Acrylic?
  • Foamboard?

Choose more

  • Number of photos?
  • Size of photos to exhibit?
  • Orientation (landscape or portrait)?

These are the next two photos for you to choose from as still not decided on B&W photos, colour, or both. If you missed the first photos in the last four week’s posts, check these links:

Help me choose one of these photos to include in my exhibition and let me know the reason for your choice. What do you like/dislike about these photos?

Don Khong Island, Laos, SE Asia
Don Khong Island, Laos – Photo 1
Hsipaw, Myanmar, Burma, SE Asia
Hsipaw, Myanmar (Burma) – Photo 2

Be my curator – check out more of my work on Nilla’s Photography or Image Earth Travel and help me decide.

I always have a mental block when choosing photos for an exhibition or for my travel articles.

Appreciate your help!

Nilla 🙂

It’s so hard picking the right photos. I like the colours of the first and the fact that your subject is popping against the background (if you know what I mean), but I love the 2nd because you can’t tell whether the woman is walking away or towards the camera.. her arms are wrapped around the babies back (i think) but they could be wrapping around the other way… good illusion! Hope you are well xxx

      Hey Gill
Great feedback and yes, I find it extremely difficult selecting images for an exhibition!
Interesting how the mind works and perceives images. The woman is walking away from the camera with the baby on her back.
All is well here in Brisbane and looking forward to a rest, for 10 days over the Christmas break! xx

Oh Nilla, how do one choose between these two photo’s? But if I have to … photo 2 in Burma. I like the hat over both (I presume) mother and child’s heads. And them surrounding by all of that greenery, makes for the perfect background.
    Great shots!

As art is so subjective, I never know what strikes a chord with an audience and the reason I’m trialling this method this time…
Yes, mother and child under the same hat – just loved this natural frame whilst walking behind them so took several shots but think that this is the better image.
Thank you for taking the time to give me feedback again Berto & Corna!
      Cheers

I like #1 for the contrast of colors; blue shirt and yellow grain.
