Slowly getting my photography exhibition together with your help!
Portraiture or candid photography? Why?
For the past six weeks, I’ve taken a rest from writing Indonesian travel articles. Instead, I have been asking for help from everyone so that I can organise my photography exhibition but with your feedback.
The last photography exhibition – Image Earth Faces, hosted by the beautiful Erika from Piano B – Event Project Management – was pre-COVID in 2018. The stunning medieval Palazzo Sersale in the village of Cerisano, Calabria in Southern Italy, is a superb venue for any function but especially for an exhibition. Seems like an age ago and the world has changed so much since 2018.
As it’s difficult for me to select a new portfolio for an exhibition and with so much to organise, I’d like to know your thoughts on some of these decisions I need to make…
Choose a theme
- Street?
- Portrait?
- Landscape?
- Candid?
- Urban exploration?
- Abstract and Conceptual
- Street art?
- Travel?
- Castles?
- Country or continent?
- Social issues?
Choose a Medium
- Black & White?
- Colour?
- Frames? Frameless glass?
- Canvas?
- Acrylic?
- Foamboard?
Choose more
- Number of photos?
- Size of photos to exhibit?
- Orientation (landscape or portrait)?
The next two photos for you to choose from as I am still not sure whether B&W photos, colour, or both. If you missed the previous photos from which to choose, check out these links:

Please help me choose one of the following photos to include in the exhibition and let me know why you decided on the photo. Both photos are 35mm B&W film images.
Is there anything you like/dislike about these photos?
Feel free to check out more of my work on Nilla’s Photography or Image Earth Travel and help me decide.
Appreciate all of your help!

I agree with everyone else, the mystery added to the first photo is the secret🙂

Thank you Christie for the feedback and selection.
I like the 35mm B&W film medium I sued for both of these images. 😉

The first photo obviously. There is a mystery in the half hidden face of the “old” man… Buon anno nuovo amica.

Grazie Brian!
This guy was actually begging outside of a pastry shop. I think the 35mm film works well in this case. 😉
Buon anno nuovo anche a te!
Ciao

Both good but I love the shaded, mysterious face.

Thank you!
These are both 35mm B&W film, with only a little sharpening and I don’t like post-production.

Photo is a great slice of life work scene. Photo 1 although well photographed brings Star Wars to mind. ( a movie series I like, but might be distracting

Ha, ha, thanks for the great feedback Rebecca – never thought of Star Wars at all!
Hope you’re having a wonderful festive season. 🙂
