Photo Challenge – Week 14

Can you guess in which continent this photo was taken?

I started this photo challenge a couple of months ago to break up my travel posts a little and decided to make the challenge as simple as possible to have a little fun guessing. If you would like to have a go at continuing this along, then:

  • post one of your favourite photos each week for as long as you like
  • your photo can be from any time, any place, and of anything, so start delving through your old or new chest of memories
  • post a photo without any explanation or hints
  • ask your readers where the photo was taken
  • make the challenge as easy or as hard as you wish and don’t forget to nominate someone each Sunday.

Post whatever and wherever you wish, although please link back to my Image Earth Travel site so that I know you accepted the #photochallenge. Don’t stress if you don’t have time, or are not interested in this little challenge. Why not pass this challenge along to someone that you know has the time to join in?

It’s difficult for me to choose a photo to share from Image Earth Travel or Nilla’s Photography, as this challenge is also not to add words or give any hints about where you took the photo. So, here goes…

Jurassic Coast, Dorset, United Kingdom, Europe
Where do you think I took this moody photo?

Today, I’m nominating the intriguing travel blog Lookoom, which offers posts in French and English for week 14 of my guessing photo challenge. Check out this super cool blog site that shares travel photos and stories.

So, don’t forget to leave a comment below and let me know if you can guess where I took this photo – think this is an easy one to guess.

Haha! So it was old Albion… (Didn’t look at the comments before. Cross my heart)

Ha, ha, Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coast. Loads of spectacular walks…when it’s not pouring with rain. 😉

      1. equinoxio21 Avatar

I can imagine the walks. And the rain… ☔️ 🌧

      2. Image Earth Travel Avatar

        Esattamente! But, love the walks.

      3. equinoxio21 Avatar

The walks must be splendid. I also have this “fantasy” of walking the cliffs of Cornwall. Who knows when?

      4. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Cornwall is gorgeous – fell in love with this county in 1985 and visited many times since. Maybe it’s also the ruggedness and the piracy history that appeals. 😉

Question: are there reasonably good accommodations along the way? In other words if one walks a few hours along the cliffs, it’s easy to find a decent inn to spend the night and then move on the next day?

      6. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Depends on where along the coast you’re walking. The day walks are easy and have pubs/inns along the way but the longer more rugged walks I don’t think have much accommodation.
Thinking of doing one of these walks? 😉

      7. equinoxio21 Avatar

I have been thinking about it. But I’d better hurry. My back is not improving. Which does not hinder walking fortunately, but driving or carrying a backpack for instance is out…

      8. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Yeah, it’s hard on the back carrying a pack but I’m still going to persevere. 😉

      9. equinoxio21 Avatar

As long as you can take it, within reason of course… Plans for Chrsitmas?

      10. Image Earth Travel Avatar

        Of course! 😉
Dogsitting a Black Labrador for just under 6 weeks so not venturing too far. Friends over for yummy food and vino. You?

      11. equinoxio21 Avatar

        I would suspect you like dogs… 🐶
Likewise. Food and wine. All the family. Cheers
        🍷 🍷

Absolutely love dogs and that is the reason we took him on. Although it was supposed to be 4 weeks, then tickets were booked and suddenly it became 5 weeks and 5 days.
        And so it begins…

      13. equinoxio21 Avatar

        Yeah. So it does…

  2. equinoxio21 Avatar

Not quite sure. The cliffs? People look clothed and the small houses? Dover? England? If that is so, “continent” would be a tad misleading. LOL.
    Hopping to Lookoom. Sounds Lebanese.

Hi, close, this is Dorset England. 😉
      It’s a cool site.

      1. equinoxio21 Avatar

I’ll have to look it up on the map. My English geography is sketchy. I know where Scotland and Wales are and that’s about it. 😉

      2. equinoxio21 Avatar

        Found it. West of Brighton…

      3. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Southwest England and a beautiful part of the country. 😉

      4. equinoxio21 Avatar

On my list. Ha. Like too many other destinations…

      5. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Ha, ha, like mine as well – never enough time for travelling. 😉

Dorset! I went there many decades ago. We are fine thank you. Cats a bit reluctant to go out today in the snow! Just 5 inches.

      Beautiful part of the UK.
Oh dear, but I would be also… ;-

The first time I flew to Australia I remember being struck by the red soil. But I see that I would be selecting the wrong hemisphere! No idea!

    1. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Ha, ha, indeed it is the wrong hemisphere. I took this one in Dorset, England.
Hope all is well with you and your babies. 🙂

  5. Agata 40thousandkm Avatar

    Europe – UK? 🙂

    1. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Well done! Do you know where though, Agata? What gave it away?

      1. Agata 40thousandkm Avatar

South coast? The rock and the beach 😀

      2. Image Earth Travel Avatar

Pretty good! It’s the beautiful Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

      3. Agata 40thousandkm Avatar

        It really looks beautiful! 🙂

      4. Image Earth Travel Avatar

I highly recommend this part of the UK Agata, if you’re travelling close by – it’s gorgeous! 🙂

      5. Agata 40thousandkm Avatar

        Thank you! 🙂
