A smooth crossing on the English Channel to Cherbourg, France, then it’s a long drive of 2,500-plus kilometres down to Cosenza, Calabria – Italy’s gorgeous south.
Porte de Lyon, France is almost the half-way mark of the over 2,300-kilometre drive from Italy to the UK. The objective is to drive the whole distance in 9 days.
With my expired visa and the thought of deportation lingering in the back of my mind, the day to start the long drive back from Italy to the UK is here…
Crossing the border from St-Jean-Pla-de-Corts (France) to Calonge (Spain) today as planning to spend some time in Spain and meet up with our great travel buddies of long ago…well, since 2011 anyway.
Today’s objective is to drive just south of Bordeaux to the campsite in Créon for an overnighter. A couple of nights in Belflou should see us having a little break before heading to Le Boulou in preparation to cross the border into Spain. What could possibly go wrong today?
